Classic beauty. Perfect rendering. It just doesn't get any better than this, Silvina.

I love this series and I'll bet you are too.

In awe from here.

Love this series!

Melinda, thank you so much. The rendering is far from perfect though. This one was the most challenging in the series so far. The turrets at the top of the piece had to be corrected several times. Still, it's a pleasant challenge to work through. : )

Marian and Linda, thank you both for your kind comments. I'm really having fun with these pieces.

I like the rough background contrasted with the detailed subject: nice balance.

Diana, thanks. The "rough" background came about because of my messy corrections. : )

These chess pieces are fantastic Silvina. So simple but completely striking and unusual both in subject terms and techniques. My favourite has to be the white queen!

I just love love love these chess pieces! I can't wait to see the entire series!! Are you going to do black and white of each piece? What a killer show to have all pieces lined up on opposite walls!

Sheila, I truly appreciate your comment. I think the white queen has a special feel to it (in my mind anyway) because she symbolizes my grandmother. A lot of emotion went into that one. Thanks!

Karen, your enthusiasm is contagious! Yes, I am considering painting each piece in both colors.

But I must say this; I hadn't envisioned setting up a show with the black & white pieces hanging opposite each other... that's FANTASTIC!! If I do it that way, I will be sure to give my friend Karen Appleton the credit for the brilliant concept. Geez, I'm pretty excited now. Thanks for that.
